Nowba: 20 Years of Collections

For the past twenty years, Najib Alioua has been weaving connections between Parisian elegance and Oriental refinement. Arabesques, intricate embroidery, and opulent ornamentation merge with the precise structure of tailoring, creating a cultural fusion where finesse and delicacy form the couturier’s signature. Over the years, from Constantine to Byzantium, Najib Alioua draws his inspiration from the soul of cities. Nowba is an invitation to a journey, a voyage to dreamlike destinations.

Born in Paris to a family with roots in Constantine, Najib Alioua developed an early fascination with the magical world of colors, shapes, and materials, particularly fabrics. As soon as I see a fabric, I instinctively know what to do with it.”

His parents were his source of inspiration. His father, a decorative painter, introduced him to drawing, sparking a passion for lines. His mother, a woman with a keen sense of fashion, became his mentor and first muse.

After rigorous training as a designer in Paris, he gained extensive experience working with prestigious fashion houses such as Ted Lapidus, Balenciaga, and Prada.

In 2001, a trip to Marrakech sparked an emotional awakening that solidified his decision to create: “Yves Saint Laurent, whom I admire immensely, often stayed there… And with its scents, warmth, and colors, this city truly transported me.”

Upon his return, he launched his first collection and his eponymous brand. Since then, his dual heritage has been reflected in his collections, an elegant and modern universe shaped by both cultures.
