On the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Sofitel Paris le Faubourg presents the Haute Competition exhibition!

The world of sport inspired the designers of the Fédération Française de Création Couture sur Mesure (French Federation of Taylor-made Creative Couture) to create a collection where virtuosity combines with humor. Through whimsical and daring diversions, they evoke the Olympic universe, without compromising any of the precision of their know-how or the refinement that is their signature. The creators explore the vocabulary of sport, make functionalism a style, national colors aesthetic biases, turn equipments into accessories. Sportswear is stylized in formal dresses; the genres blur happily. Lace turns a sleeve into a balloon net, a windbreaker into an evening outfit or adds a romantic touch to fencer’s pants. Footballs nestle irreverently under a skirt, badminton shuttlecocks are stuck in the deep neckline of a dress, while a braided horse’s tail escapes from the jacket of a rider worn double-sided.

The tailor’s dummies wear fanciful medals created by the jewelers of the La Boci union chamber and the Maison du Pli reinterprets the torch using traditional pleating cardboard.

The exhibition is freely accessible in the windows and lobby of the Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg.
